Doug Polk Back in Profit After 143 Hours of Streaming

Upswing Poker found Doug Polk is finally back in profit in his $100K in a month challengefollowing a disastrous start. After a total of 143 hours of streaming, Polk is up a grand total of $521 up for an hourly rate of $3.64.

There were plenty of doubters when he announced his lofty goals last month, staging:

“I’m setting out to win $100,000 in one month on the new online poker site Club WPT Gold.”

He added that every cent he won would be given away to all players who signed up to the platform using his personal code.

Well, we hope there isn’t anyone who is relying on a slice of this cash!

After 143 hours of streaming I am finally back to even

With $521 in profit, my hourly is $3.64

Doug Polk Finally Comes Unstuck in a Poker Challenge

It was a tough challenge to begin with, but then we learned that Club WPT Gold does not allow multi-tabling and realised heads-up cash legend Polk had little to no chance of pulling this off, despite how good he is.

It kicked off well enough with a quick ramp up to $20,000 profit by March 14, but then the run turned sour.

By March 21, Polk was $50,000 in the hole with only 13 more days to recoup those losses.

Realising that the jig was up, he amusingly renamed it The $0 Challenge, hoping to at least avoid the embarrassment of ending up in the red.

Of course, there was always going to be somebody waiting to stick the knife in, even in a jovial manner, and it turned out to be Eric Persson.

I see my boy @DougPolkVids has taken being staked to the next level with my boys @rampagepoker and @nikairball@DougPolkVids down about 149milly on @ClubWPTGold .. seems like the HU game just passed him by… pic.twitter.com/2J3dMkftta

On that note, would it be great to see these two in some kind of a heads up challenge? Live or online it would be a fun spectacle for the fans. There really isn’t any serious needle between these two, it’s only banter from what we can see.

Polk did actually respond to some of the needling to say if Persson thinks he’s that and then he’s happy to send him packing online”

On a more serious note, Polk agreed to either shave his head or dye his hair platinum blonde if he is still down money by March 3 when the challenge ends.

Doug Polk has been playing on WPT Club Gold which is aimed at US-based players and uses tokens rather than fiat currency and pays out prizes.
