Kristen Foxen has been named as one of two inductees into the Women in Poker Hall of Fame Class of 2024 the high stakes pro honored alongside Jeanne David.
Kristen Bicknell Foxen has been named as one of two inductees into the Women in Poker Hall of Fame Class of 2024, the high stakes pro honoured alongside Jeanne David. Starla Brodie will also be honoured posthumously for her contributions to the game.
Foxen and David were among a group of eight finalists – Liv Boeree, Jamie Kerstetter, Annette Obrestad, Kara Scott, Jennifer Shahade, and Rebecca McAdam Willett the others – who had made it through a public nomination process and subsequent shortlist process.
The final decision was taken by current WiPHoF members alongside a panel of experts that included poker journalists Haley Hintze and Jennifer Newell.
Kristen Foxen was honoured for her record-breaking career which this year saw her lift her 5th WSOP gold bracelet and a 13th place finish in the WSOP Main Event.
That $600k run took her through the $8million barrier in live earnings, cementing her second position in the women’s all-time list behind money leader Vanessa Selbst.

Foxen, under the name “Ultimate Grinder” was also a Supernova Elite player on PokerStars three years consecutively, in 2011, 2012 and 2013, playing roughly 2.5 million hands per year, mostly at $1/$2 and $2/$4 stakes.
The second inductee for the Class of 2024 is Jeanne David, a primarily mixed game player who has been at the forefront of legislative efforts in the US and Europe as well as Head of Responsible Gaming for PokerStars until her retirement a few years ago.
In addition, the Women in Poker Hall of Fame have selected their first posthumous Pioneer Induction selection as Starla Brodie.
Starla was the first woman to win an open WSOP event in 1979 alongside Doyle Brunson in the 1979 WSOP $600 Mixed Doubles Event. She won her second bracelet in 1995 in the $1k Women’s WSOP Seven-Card Stud event.
Described as “a trailblazer… an inspiration and role model for women,” Starla passed away in 2014, aged 58.
Foxen, David and Brodie will be honored at the Women in Poker Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony & Luncheon on Wednesday, December 11th, 2024, at the historic downtown Plaza Hotel and Casino.
The ceremony will be followed by the Women in Poker Hall of Fame Celebration Bounty Tournament at Resorts World, featuring a $185 buy-in with special prizes awarded for knocking out a WiPHoF member.
